2026 MG HS Hybrid+ price and specs

The MG HS Hybrid+ has just arrived in Australian showrooms, commanding only a modest price premium over petrol-powered versions of the mid-size SUV.

UPDATED 15/10/2025: Customer deliveries of the MG HS Hybrid+ have begun. We’ve updated this article with revised pricing, service information, and colours, and mentioned a pair of offers currently available for new and prospective buyers.

Now on sale alongside the Super Hybrid plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the Hybrid+ will be priced from $40,990 drive-away in Excite trim and $44,990 drive-away in Essence trim.

The corresponding petrol-powered Excite and Essence are currently priced at $35,990 and $39,990 drive-away, thanks to a deal active until October 31.

In contrast, the HS Super Hybrid PHEV is priced at $50,990 drive-away (until October 31) in Excite guise, or $54,990 drive-away for the Essence.

Additionally, customers who purchase a new MG HS Hybrid+ between October 11 and November 2, 2025, will receive a fuel voucher valued at $1000 – equivalent to a year’s worth of fuel according to MG. Customers who conduct test drives on weekends between October 11 and December 21 will also receive “a free gift at the value of $50”.

The HS Hybrid+ will battle a growing throng of mid-size hybrid SUVs, including the top-selling Toyota RAV4 and more recent introductions such as the GWM Haval H6 Hybrid, Honda CR-V e:HEV, Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, Kia Sportage Hybrid, Nissan X-Trail e-Power and the upcoming Subaru Forester Hybrid.

MG offered a plug-in hybrid version of the previous-generation HS, but this is its first time offering a conventional hybrid mid-size SUV.

The HS Hybrid+ slots in above the MG 3 Hybrid+ light hatch and ZS Hybrid+ small SUV in the Chinese brand’s growing local lineup.
