2026 Renault Megane E-Tech: Facelifted electric SUV spotted in Spain

A camouflaged prototype of what’s believed to be a mid-life upgrade for the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric has been spied this week, giving us an early preview of what’s to come for the battery-powered small SUV’s upcoming facelift.

Snapped on the roads of Spain, the updated Megane E-Tech is heavily camouflaged but hints at revised styling that should bring the compact electric crossover into line with Renault’s new design language, with changes to its LED lighting signatures and bumper designs peeping through the black and white camo-cladding.

Our sources claim the Megane E-Tech will get the latest in the French brand’s driver assistance and infotainment technologies with its mid-life facelift, and will incorporate batteries made in its home country for the first time, courtesy of supplier Envision.

These new batteries could see the Megane’s claimed WLTP driving range exceed 500km (currently up to 468km in Europe), which would make it more competitive against European rivals like the Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID.3, as well as the Peugeot E-308.

Our sources claim the facelifted 2026 Renault Megane E-Tech Electric will be revealed before the end of the year, ahead of a European market launch in the first half of 2026.

Here in Australia, the Megane E-Tech hasn’t changed much since it first launched locally back in February 2024, despite some running changes being released in the European market earlier this year. CarExpert has contacted Renault Australia regarding local updates to the Megane E-Tech range.

Down Under, the Megane E-Tech is available in just one trim level dubbed the ‘Techno’, pricing for which has been slashed from $64,990 before on-road costs to $54,990 drive-away.
