Nissan has issued a nationwide product safety recall for its popular Qashqai small SUV, affecting more than 13,000 petrol-only (non e-Power hybrid) versions of the pre-facelifted model due to the potential for a fuel leak and subsequent vehicle fire.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pipe may chafe against the support bracket and become damaged,” said Nissan in its recall notice.
“If this occurs fuel may leak, potentially resulting in loss of motive power whilst driving, and if in the presence of an external ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.

“A loss of motive power or vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.”
- A total of 13,031 vehicles are affected, produced between 2022 and 2024

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing to request they contact an authorised Nissan dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.
